Kaaru

Kaaru is Somannu's sister, and worked a farmstead on a mountainside to the north of Somannu and her family. Neyu, Samsithi and Pukka were sent for a while to work for Kaaru; Somannu maintained it was because her sister needed the help, and it would be good for the girls to learn her trade, but the real truth was that gangs of young men rattled loose from society by encroaching war were coming too close to the farm. Kaaru is assumed to have died in attacks after the girls came back home.
