Durtha

Durtha is Vikrannu's third mate on the Riti, and is the only former member of her special forces squad to have stuck with her after her enforced "honorable dismissal" from the Damamat military. Other members of her squad left when she did, some in protest, but went their own ways when she decided to abandon the ground-pounder life and take up the captaincy of a tramp freighter. He is resentful that an "outsider," Sahakil, has the honor of being second mate, but as Vikrannu has rightly pointed out, she needed someone with actual ship-board experience and piloting and navigation skills to be in that position. Possibly out of deference to Durtha, Vikrannu has no first mate.
