Pukka is Neyu's older sister. A sort of secondary mom in the family, or younger aunt, she helps run the farm and keep the kids together and on task. She has attended some formal schooling for a few weeks at a time with "family of family" in Hemuntaari, cramming important subjects like history and current affairs. She's accustomed to taking the trip between home and Hemuntaari, and has often avoided the roads as a means of exploration and self-education. This becomes important when she and Neyu have to escape from home to the spaceport and avoid roads due to roaming bands of scavengers and skirmishers.
